My background in accounting spans over 15 years, ranging from intern and volunteer positions while getting my accounting degree, to corporate accounting and international finance, and all the way to presently owning and operating my own business providing bookkeeping and consulting services.
I started out counseling small, local Portland businesses while interning with the Business Outreach Program at Portland State University, where I graduated cum laude with a degree in Accounting. I also interned in the corporate tax division at KPMG, as well as volunteered my services as treasurer and bookkeeper for the local nonprofit running group, Portland Frontrunners. I worked as a staff accountant at the local firm, SagaCity Media (publisher of Portland Monthly Magazine) and went on to work for MercyCorps in their International Finance department.
Since I started my own business, I have served a number of businesses in such categories as Architecture, Retail and Wholesale Jewelry, Wholesale Nursery Stock, Food Service, Property Management, Industrial Services, and Nonprofit work.
I have a broad skillset that serves my clients well, going beyond basic bookkeeping to include:
financial reporting and analysis
custom spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and automations
accounting system migrations
internal systems review and improvements
reconciliation and accounting clean-up
organizing, streamlining, and more...
When I'm not working too much, you'll possibly find me trail running or hiking in the mountains, particularly around Mt. Hood, as well as frequently in Forest Park.
